Hi! Rob
If you want to see all the 3 ship tp parties in your sold to party 3879 then assign the 4612 & 4613 ship to parties to the sold to party in partners tab page in sales area data.
The logic already explained by others.

Hi;
This is what you needed;
Partner counter
The sequential number that the system applies when there is more than one partner for a particular partner function.
When you create a sales order for a particular customer, there may be more than one ship-to party defined. The different ship-to parties are numbered sequentially
If useful reward;

Dear Rob,
The logic is a sold -to-party can have no.of ship-to-parties but A sold-to-party can't have more than one sold -to-parties.
A sold-to-party can have only one sold-to-party partner function.
I hope it will clear for you

Murali.

Hi,
The thing is very simple.
e.g. IBM corp is the sold to party on record.
IBM USA is one of the ship to party
IBM UK is one of the ship to party.
Thus ship to party may have many partners assigned, but sold to party remains unique based on which many static and stable fields are selected.

Siddharth.
