Hi,
Can any one help me in this query-
We have one customer ABC which was deleted in 2006.
But system allows to create sales order for ABC even in yr 2008(03 APR 2008.)
what is the effect of deleting a customer in sales cycle.
i.e. which functions are blocked sales order, Delivery or billing process if the customer is deleted?
Please help.
Regards
If you want to delete the customer master data completely you will need to setup an archiving project because you will also need to delete every single document, or piece of data which references that customer as well e.g. all invoices, orders, financial documents etc. .
If you do not do this then your system will be inconsistent and will cause you problems if you try and view any documents which are linked to that customer .
Options for you are, use transactions
> VD05 - block customer so that no new postings go to that account
> VD06 - mark customer for deletion
> F56A - sit with your basis consultant & set up the archiving parameters for customer master. Once archiving is done you could completely delete record from system.

Hi,
I) T.code XD05 Can be used to block or unblock customer based on
companu code,
sales org,
Dist chl,
Div
II)T.code XD06 Can be used to flag the custome for deletion based on
companu code,
sales org,
Dist chl,
Div
III)T.code F56A Can be used to Archive ( If customer is not used for sales, can retrive back when ever cusotmer is active for sales).

Dear Ambatkar,
As per the standard I think system will allow the deleted customer with warning message.
System will give just warning message after that it will allow you to complete the sales cycle, it will not block .
If you want restrict the deleted customer then you need use User EXit.
I hope it will help you

Murali.

Hi Mrunal,
Once the customer master is created, it cannot be deleted.
It can only be marked for deletion. However, you can block all the transactions, like from the inquiry, quotation stage itself...
In your case, mark the customer master for deletion once again and save it..

Raghav
