cofiles and data files in trans dir

hi everyone,

We will be doing a lot of transports in a day or in a week. What will happen to the older cofiles and data files in their corresponding directories? will they be removed from trans/data and trans/cofiles automatically or do we need to take back up of these directories?

Hi,

The old data files will be moved to the old data folder as far as ecc5,the files which are marked old depending on the date this will be moved and then once they even become older then will be deleted.

Vamshi.

Actually there are 3 transport profile parameters which can be used to control this:

1. DATALIFETIME

2. COFILELIFETIME

3. OLDDATALIFETIME

Check more here:

Also OSS notes: 41732 &312843. They will clear some more concepts.

hi vamsi

can you please give me the exact path for the old data to which these old cofiles and data files will be moved.

Its ok for ECC 5 but what happens in case of previous versions like 4.6C, 4.7EE? Should we take backup?

these features are available since a long time (4.0A ?). The olddata directory is a subdirectory there is no oldcofiles directory, cofiles are deleted directly since they can be recreated from the data file.

If the number of the transport is different from the incoming ones they'll remain where they are... they won't be removed automatically and you don't need to remove them if you don't have space problems... now if you want to remove them take a backup and simply delete them
