Dear All,

I am implementing WH. My query is that lets say i have a material

Material : 1998

I have recieved the material in a Storage Bin (01-01-01). System saves the GR date. & If someone wants to use FIFO stock removal strategy then the system uses the oldest GR date for stock removal. On every recieving a Quant is created by the system. With its ownGR date.

My question is that can we have 2 Quants of the same material (1998) with different GR dates in the same Storage Bin.

Coz normally when we add the same material in the same storage bin the system loses the latest GR date. and add the newly arrived data against the OLD GR DATE.

Hi Riaz,

If more than one quant is to be maintained in a storage bin, then the storage type should be of mixed storage type.

In customization, activate the Mixed Storage for the respective storage type.

Spro --> Logistics Execution --> Warehouse Management --> Master Data --> Define Storage Type

Dear Muhammad,

SAP says that quant 'is a quantity of material with similar characteristics'. If you use batch management you can have two quants in the same storage bin with the same material number (ID), because they are not of the same charateristics.

So, if you received two shipment via MIGO at two different times those goods may have different batch numbers and in this way you can store two different quants of this material in the same storage bin.

If there's no difference between them, only the GR dates, your problem is not solved (but in this case the batch numbers are the same so GR-dates maybe aren't important).

Hi

If u want to remove material on FIFO basis, for ur require Storage Type make 'Stock removal strategy' as 'F' - FIFO. This will make your outgoing material from this storage type and bins on first in first out basis.

In this case as said in above post u'll have different quants for same material and outgoing will decide on FIFO.
