Hi All,

I had an interview in which I was asked about the transports among SLD - > IR - > ID - > RWB. Kindly provide me some information regarding this and also please let me know if a XI Developer has to perform these transports or just having knowledge about is sufficient.

Thanks in Advance.

Regards,

TBIT41:

TBIT44:

https://websmp102.sap-ag.de/~form/ehandler?_APP=00200682500000001337&_EVENT=DISPLAY&COURSE=TBIT44

after going this you will know that how to make a scenario

make a product and SWCV in SLD then import it in IR there you will design your scenarion then go to ID import your SWCV and configure the scenario that you have designed in IR

Hi Sreedhar,

This Transporting is not an XI Developer Work.

This is to be done by BASIS guys.

Havin the Knowledge of Transporting is good , so that we one can understand the concept strongly.

We have 2 types of Transport

1) File system mechanism

2) CMS transport

Check these on File system Mechanism

/people/sravya.talanki2/blog/2005/11/02/overview-of-transition-from-dev-to-qa-in-xi

/people/sap.india5/blog/2005/11/03/xi-software-logistics-1-sld-preparation

http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nw04/helpdata/en/93/a3a74046033913e10000000a155106/content.htm

how to do transport objects from DEV to QA>

In Integration Repository object:

Right click on the Namespace which you want to send to Quality system and select the export optin and export

it....this will create a .tpz file on the server following path

usrsap<SID>SYSglobalxi epository_serverexportsample.tpz

<what to do after creation of .tpz files for DEV>

This file will be copied and pasted in follwoing path of QA

usrsap<SID>SYSglobalxi epository_serverimportsample.tpz

Similar procedure for directory

Right click on the configuration scenarion in development which you want to send to Quality select the export

optin and export it....this will create a .tpz file on the server following path

usrsap<SID>SYSglobalxidirectory_serverexportsample.tpz

<how to reflect it in QA >

then login to the IR of the Quality select the Tools--Import option you will get this tpz file and import it and

activate.

Hi,

Overview of Transition from Dev to QA in XI

/people/sap.india5/blog/2005/11/09/xi-software-logistics-ii-overview

Two types of transport mechanism are used in PI.

• File transport method. - Manual process

• CMS transport method.-automated process.

File transport method:

CMS transport method:

• CMS for SAP Exchange Infrastructure:

• How to handle Xi with CMS:

• Configuration of CMS in Central NWDI & SLD to transport XI objects:

/people/praveen.mayalur/blog/2007/05/31/configuration-of-cms-in-central-nwdi-sld-to-transport-xi-objects

• XI Software Logistics Solution III: CMS:

/people/sap.india5/blog/2005/11/28/xi-software-logistics-solution-iii-cms

Refer the configuring group and transport group for Business systems.

http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nw04/helpdata/en/ef/a21e3e0987760be10000000a114084/frameset.htm

Usually Basis people handle the transport, but again it depends upon the project roles and responsibility everyone holds.
