Alert Management configurations for triggering alerts multiple times

Hi All,

We are working on triggering alerts for the bid invitation thru. the classification SRM alerts and the alert category BBP_BID_INV.

As per the configurations in the ALRTCATDEF we are getting emails only once though our requirement is to trigger multiple times. We dont have a role configured for the recipients or for the subscription in the ALRTCATDEF.

For the business object BUS 2200 and for the standard Event schema RFQ and for the event NO_BID_SUBMITTED for the event category Alert and SRM_BID_INV the deadline we maintain is 1 which means the vendor should get alerts for every one hour till the end date of the bid invitation.

If we see the Alert inbox the message we get is : "The triggering application generates the alert"

We are working on the client system where there are some configurations made by previous consultants and we are not able to find out exactly how this is getting triggered.

Can anyone answer my questions pls ?

1) What are the ways of triggering an alert ? There is one way using the roles in ALRTCATDEF, there is one way thru the FM and another one thru WF is what help.sap.com says. But is there anyway other than this.

We dont have any BADI active though we found BBP_ALERTING the std one., But the issue with this BADI is the recipients are again triggered by roles here.

2) What is the significance of the configuration in the Event control --> Event deadline in hours in the SPRO? We gave 1 hour there and thought for every one hour the alert will be triggered but it is not so.

We have standard values in F4 only either 24 hours or multiple of 24 hours.

Hi,

This is a kind of workaround solution.

How about customizing the alert as Task type. The task will be inbox. You can send a notification mail by RBBP_NOTIFICATION_OFFAPP or RSWUWFMLEC. Set the task filter only specific one and schedule the job as required period.

Hi Masa,

When we run the report RSAL****** for the multiple deliveries with the delete delivery after expiry time check box the alerts are triggered again.

The only config. is the max no. of deliveries is the maximum time the report can be run.
