Content Administrator - Create JCo Connection

Former Member

Hi!

There is a question about the example project TutWD_FLIGHTLIST.

According to the corresponding readme-file it’s necessary to create Jco connections.

=> WebDynpro_FlightListReadme.pdf/Requirements and Dependencies/2 f:

…Select WD_FLIGHTLIST_MODELDATA_DEST JCO and press “create” in order to configure this client (in the Jco connection screen of the WD Content Administrator)…

But there’s a problem: The clients and buttons (create, test,…) are inactive.

Can anyone help?

Thanks and regards,

Silke

hi Reena and Silke,

You will have to set the HTTP parameters for connecting J2EE engine with SLD in the visual admin at: server->Services->SLD Data Supplier (HTTP settings tab). Usual settings are:

Host = J2EE engine host

Port = 50000

User = Administrator

Password = Administrator-password

After correctly configuring this entries, you should be able to check SLD connection in the WD content admin successfully

Hi Silke,

to create/maintain JCO connections in the WD content admin, you must have the System Landscape Directory (SLD) configured and running.

There's a button in the WD content admin to check the SLD connection.

1. Via web browser enter: http://<hostname>:50000/sld

2. Log in as Administrator and enter password (default: sap).

3. Click on the Administration tab > Server Settings.

4. In the field Object Server enter: localhost and press the Set button under the Server Parameters.

5. Click Administration link.

6. Start the SLD by clicking Start Server button.

7. Click on the Content > Import.

8. Browse to: C:\usr\sap\C11\SYS\global\sld\model

9. Import cimsap.zip first and CR_Content.zip next.

10. Via web browser go to Home>Technical Landscape>Technical System.

11. Click New Technical System with WEB AS ABAP.

12. Create an entry for each SAP system you want to interact

13. Use these technical systems in maintaining JCO destinations

Hi Sam,

I was facing a similar problem with regard to the JCO Connection. I realised I had not configured the SLD properly.

So I followed the steps to configure SLD.

But even after configuring SLD, the 'Create' button remains inactive (it is enabled though). Nothing happens after clicking on it.

Hence Im unable to create a JCO connection.

Have I missed any steps? Or while creating a New technical system, could entering wrong values for the parameters be a cause?

Kindly help me.

Thanks in advance

Reena
