hello
can anybody tell me wats meant by the number of palette for a shipment?
if you know, can you please tell me how the calculation is done plz?
Hi Sai Anjali,
Palette is one type of Packing material, you can see the different packing material in this link.
http://help.sap.com/saphelp_47x200/helpdata/en/c8/a44b7a9f3211d2858d0000e81ddea0/content.htm
For example Packing hierarchy will be like this
There are 100 Qty of Cadbury Dairy Milk chacolets
First we can pack 5 pieces in one small boxe=20 small boxes
Next we can pack 2 small boxes in to each Carton boxes.=10 carton boxes(Little biger than small box).
Next we can pack 5 Carton boxes in to Each Palette=2 paletts.
I hope it will clear for you

Murali.

Dear sia anjali
It is nothing but the total master boxes which you are despatching. Assuming that you are manufacturing a product A which will be packed in a carton box for which you receive an order for 1000 nos.
If your master box can accommodate 500 such cartons of productA, then you will have to pack in two master boxes (which will be big in size). For safety and precautionary measure, this master carton will be palletised (woods hammered with nails on all the four corners of the master box). So in the above case, the number of pallets per shipment is two.
Hope this explanation clears your doubt.
thanks
