Significance of resheduling horizon?

Can i know significance of resheduling horizon ?

I wanted to know how resheduling horizon will give me advantage in planning run?

Hi,

Rescheduling Horizon:

It is defined in Plant parameter tcode OPPQ. For rescheduling check use tcode OMDW.

In rescheduling check system will consider firmed elements ie, Firmed planned orders, Production order, Firm purchase req, QM ins lot.

For easy understanding we can assume having firmed planned order qty 10 no’s on 29.03.2008.

Sales order qty 10 no’s date on 20.03.2008.

Rescheduling horizon say 20 days.

When mrp run system do net requirement calculation ie, Plant stock + Firmed receipts – issues – safety stock = Available stock.

If you mention 20 days in horizon system will consider the firmed planned order on 29.03.2008. System won’t create any procurement proposal.

If you have mention only 5 days system will not consider the firmed planned order on 29.03.2008. System will create procurement proposal for qty 10 no’s.

IInd Stage:

Tolerance value forward 2 days.

Assume having firmed planned order qty 10 no’s on 29.03.2008.

Sales order qty 10 no’s date on 25.03.2008.

Rescheduling horizon say 20 days.

When mrp run system proposes reschedule the firmed planned order to 25.03.08

Because tolerance days not able to include 29.03.08

If you maintain Tolerance value forward 5 days system will not create any reschedule proposal. That you can check in MD04 screen.

This concept is same for tolerance value displacement ie, backward.

As you know rescheduling check will be carried our against the firmed reciepts in a defined period "rescheduling horizon" in OPPQ transaction.

Suppose you resheduling horizon is 100 days and you some requirements in next month but to cover the requirements you one PO (receipt element) in current month. Now during MRP run system checks the requirements and firmed reciepts in net reuirements bracket and if these falls within the rescheduling horizon then exception messge will come for the reciept for "postpone process" to the requirements date in order to avoid the additonal proposal for the requirements of the next month...This will avoid the additional proposals for the new requirements incase you have firmed receipts in past or in future.

In case the requirements in current period and receipt in past the message will be "bring forward the process" or if you create manual PO to meet the requirement the message comes "cancel process" because this not reuqires.

These exception messages are important but only for information purpose. MRP controller need to do manual scheduling as per the mesages.

In OPPQ,if the planning horizon for the specific plant is maintained as 100 days,and if the MRP run is carried out using the processing

key NETPL - Net Change in Planning horizon,the system generates planned orders only for the PIR's that lie within that 100 days.

For Eg,if the planning horizon is 100 days for a plant 1000,and in MD61 for a material that belongs to the plant 1000,the PIR's are given

for the months say May to September and if MRP is carried out using MD02 with processing key NETPL,then the syetm creates the

planned order only for the PIR's that lie from may to August and it does not create a planned order for the requirement given for

september month.But you can see the Independent requirement for the month of September.

If you run MRP with processing key NETCH,then the system creates planned order for all the requirements.

Hi Mahesh patil,

Reshuduilng harizon is the period given is number of working days.

The system takes into account the Reshduling harozon from the endo fo the Replenishment lead time.

Within the Resheduling Harizon the system will postpose or bring forward the proposals to meet the requirements.

If the requirment lies before the requirement date then the Fixwed or Firmed procurment proposals will be postponed or Resheduling out will be carried out by the system.

If the requirement lies after the requirement date then the system will Bring forward - Resheduling in the Firmed or fixed procurement proposals.
