APO PPDS SETUP STEPS

Dear All,

I am new to APO .I want to learn PPDS.Can anybody guide me

PPDS setup steps from ( Start to End). I know DP & SNP very well and I am useing IDES APO 3.1.

I need your help very urgently.Many Thanks in advance.

I would suggest you to get on the latest version, as there are quite a few changes (PPM is now PDS, some new scheduling heristics iz. - enhanced backward scheduling, etc)

If you are conversant with DP& SNP, it should not be too difficult. PPDS has 2 parts - Planning and Scheduling. Planning is very much similar to what you have in ECC, but what is interesting is scheduling capabilities. You also have an optimiser, ofcourse with differnt objectives (Minimum Set time, makespan time, etc). CIF would be used to it maximum in PPDS for inetgrating transaction data. Resources can be declared as finitely or infinitely scheduled. With this overview, now you have to understand the heuristics that are available in PPDS, for sequencing and scheduling, and there is huge number of scheduling heuristics. Hope this provides some direction.
