Demand Planning Aggregates

Hi All,

I am trying to use aggregates in DP but I am facing the following error messages when I try to load data from the aggregates in interactive demand planning:

  • There are no plannable characteristic combinations

  • Error reading data - Planning book cannot be processed further

Using /sapapo/ts_pstru_tool and Technical Info. for Aggregate, I noticed that number of entries for the aggregate in 0. I tried to fill it again but nothing happened. I have already tried to deactivate and reactivate, but it did not help.

I also tried to activate and fill the aggregate using the cube generated in BW. In the log I have the following error:

  • SQL Error: Operand data type nvarchar is invalid for sum oper ator.

  • SQL Error: 8117

Has anyone faced this problem before and knows how to solve it?

Thanks in advance.

Emilie

Thanks for your reply.

I am using POS aggregate. It is active but not filled. Therefore, when I run the report you suggested, I have errors (as it checks CVC from POS against CVC from the aggregate...). This can only be corrected manually, which brings me to my first question: why can't I fill my aggregate?

I also checked planning area and planning book horizons as you suggested and there is no issue on that front.

Thanks again for your suggestions.

the reason for the error and the repair is as in the section below.... and looks like it says there is no solution

i suppose you have tried to activate it again... and have not got any result

you might as well try to inactivate it and recreate the aggregates

then go and refill the cvcs with a fresh create CVC using /SAPAPO/MC62 variant

(be careful - deactivating the MPOS itself will cause data loss)

if you create your CVCs in the MPOS after your aggregates are activated it would automatically aggregate in the right level

*******************

Use

The system checks whether the relevant characteristic value combinations

in the master planning object structure exist for the combinations in

the aggregate(s). If this is not the case, that is there are

combinations in the aggregate for which there are no corresponding

combinations in the master planning object structure, the data in the

planning area(s) is inconsistent and error messages are issued, in

interactive planning for instance.

In the results log the system displays the characteristic value

combinations in the aggregate that do not have corresponding

combinations in the master planning object structure.

The aggregate has not been filled correctly.

Repair

It is not possible to repair this type of error automatically since the

superfluous combinations in the aggregate cannot just be deleted.

Reactivate the aggregate. This only leads to a loss of data if values

have been fixed on the aggregate.

I think it will be a good idea to backup data before recreating the aggregates. I am thinking there has been some issue with the sequence in which aggregate has been created, POS activated and loading of CVCs. For this you may want to share the result of the log /SAPAPO/TS_PSTRU_LOG_MANAGE using the activate and repair option. There are a few OSS notes on POS aggregates as well that you may want to check.

Are these POS aggregates or infocube aggregates?

POS i assume... since you are talking about planning book but dont know how you filled it with cube data

i presume you are looking at it from a BW angle

if so check the status of the Aggregate in /sapapo/msdp_admin and going to POS (switching from PA) - is this activated (didnt know what you mean by activated

you can use /sapapo/ts_pstru_cons_check to check the consistency of aggregates

its also possible your planning area and planning book have horizons that are not synced.

can you check the plannign area initialization (by right clicking on planning area and going to created time series) and confirm that it matched with the planning book horizon (it should encompass the starting and the ending bucket)
