updating CE

hi all,

I am trying to update CE from sp03 to sp05. i cant find the update tool at all. okay....so please tell me where to find it.

Hi there,

as praveen mentioned there is an ceupdate tool.

this is available under the SPS doenload directory provided by SAP. just run it. [ ceupdate<<version>>.exe] this will run the installer for you. make sure that MMC is closed( if windows) also, you need to change the system template to development through configtool and the recovnvert it to prod after it is done.

there is also a "windows update" like service, which connects to SMP and downloads the required components and then patches your system for you..

Hi Olaf,

If you downloaded SP5, then the update tool will be part of the downloaded files. So no need to download it again. So just by executing the updatetool you can upgrade from sp3 to sp5.

Alternative to using update tool is to use JSPM to patch from SP3 to SP5.
