Hi Vamish...

Thats a port for a j2ee engine... as far as i remember WAS port will be 80 or 1080 for HTTP and 443 for HTTPS

Hi Juan,

In WAS property category

after WAS host name there is one field for WAS path ,is it required?

Is there any other setting I need to perform becoz connector connection and ITS connection are working fine.

Thanks,

Prashant

Hi Juan,

I think it will be 8001 for my server becoz my system number is 01,and as far as I know for j2ee engine port value is 80** [** defines ur system number].

Prashant.

As far as i remember is only required if the system you're setting up is a BW system (in that case the path is /sap/bw/BEx) or an specific application running on the WAS.

Hi Juan,

The http port would be 80xx,but in portal we use 5xx00 port for acessing the was.

Correct me if i am wrong, but we use 5xx00 in the was connection

the was path should be like this

http://hostname:5xx00

I am sure about this because for our system we use this connection. For its connection we use the port 80xx.

Hi ,

I don't have BW in my sap server,Is it required to put entries for WAS path?

Vamshi: I have tried with port 50100 and path as you suggested but its not working.

Hi,

Actually the was path should be /webdynpro/dispatcher/

and the was hostname should be hostname(like system.com):50100

and the connection type should be http.

Its working fine in my system can you you check this can get back.

Vamshi.

leave the path blank....

Vamish,

Again... port 5XXXX is the port of a j2ee engine not of a WebAS...

Let me take a look at the manuals....

Juan

Hi Vamish,

The configuration you just mentioned belong to the setting to integrate a Webdynpro application to the portal where <host>:5XX00 is the host and /webdynpro/dispatcher/ is the path...

As far as i can read this is not the scenario

Hi Juan,

As far i know he is trying to test the was connection from his portal

While performing the connection tests in SAP enterprise portal

WAS Description: IP address of the system

WAS Host Name: sapserver1

WAS Host Name: Pls tell me the correct path

WAS Protocol: http

As far as my understanding, this he would be looking for this,

any ways this is my perception.

Hi,

I think you have a stand alone java system installed for your portal applications, if this was test fails there is no issue,

Your connector test is working fine then go ahead with your configuration of ivews or some things else you are to work on.

The was test would fail because it would call the ping service of abap backend if your system is a addin installation then the test would be successfull.

the was path should be /webdynpro/dipatcher/ not what you have mentioned with port number.
