WHILE IAM DOING PGI IAM GETTING THIS POSTING PERIOD ERROR . BUT IAM POSTING FOR MONTH OF APRIL ONLY. STILL IT IS SHOWING TO POST IN FEBRAURY AND MARCH

check whether April period is open or not???

Use T-code MMPV - Close period for material master records.

Input From Company code to To Co Cd

enter period to Open and Year

hi,

inorder to do a posting for the present period, you have to close all the privious posting ie close privious month accounts.

you can do this using t code MMPV

Hi,

In standard SAP, the material posting periods needs to be opened for every month. This is to provide more control over the material movements. This needs to be done in liaze with the finance department. In real time cases this will be done by finance team.

Go to MMPV, give your company code, period as 04 (provided current posting period is march), and year as 2008, then execute. The system will give a message it is successfully converted, then you can post the material movement in the current period April.

Hi Amir,

the system is pretty much correct. You can do this to be able to post in april.

1) go to MMPV

2) Enter the company code

3) Enter the period as 04

4) Fiscal year as 2008

5) Execute and enter.

Now you will be able to do PGI or stock posting. You can also make sure the current posting period would be shown as april in material master > accounting view.

Check for the posting period in transaction OB52.
