Extention the number of characters of the material

Hi

we have requirement that our customer is wants maintain the material numbers with "24" characters, but sap supports only 18 characters is it possible to maintain the material number with 24 charactears.

this is very urgent

Input and output length of material numbers

A material number can have a maximum of 18 characters.

Its SAP Standard and you can not change it. to change it you need access key which you will get from SAP

Because, this is a big impact in lot of standard programs.

What is the need to have 24 characters ?

You can use another fields : classification, new field.
