hi everyone
what happens if an SAPOSCOL is stopped while SAP is running?
hi,
nothing happens to the sap system if the OS collector is not running.
in st06 the os related information will not be displayed.
it is advised, that OS collector must be running on the sap system.
if ur using windows then goto services.msc check whether os collector is running or not. if not running then start the service.

Be careful when running SAP over a Micosoft Server Cluster.

Hi,
Nothing happens you r os data will not be comming to sap and sap would not know on what os it is running. It might not cause that serious probelem as far as i know.
You can start it any time using st06-->oscollector .

As mention by vamish your OS statistics will not be populated while the SAPOSCOL is down... so basically usage of memory, cpu time, disks and filesystem info will be unavailable.
Your system will know what OS are you running under thought...
to start SAPOSCOL you can also run command saposcol -l at the command prompt.
Regards
Juan
