Hi all,
I have certain issues with the installations. I have installed the server, followed each step and did it successfully.
However when I go to the Menu.jsp page, It Says, PAGE CANNOT BE DISPLAYED.
Please tell me whats wrong with the installation.
I think it still needs some post installation steps to be completed.
Also let me know if there is some post installation guide for the same
Thank you
Gita
Hi Gita
Quick Diagonistics that you can peform :
1) Check if IIS is working
2) Check for the IIS host configuration on the server
3) After any modifacation if applicable , restart IIS & then ServletExec-xMII service.

Rajeev

Hi Gita
Whats the URL you trying to login with ?
Try http://localhost/Lighthammer if on the server or from a client http://<servername>/Lighthammer

Rajeev
On what OS did you install 11.5 - if html pages in IIS work, but java application pages and/or servlets don't work then it may be an issue with your ISAPI filter hook into IIS through the virtual scripts directory. Reconfirm these steps: http://help.sap.com/saphelp_xmii115/helpdata/en/Getting_Started/InstallationGuide.htm#System_Install...

HI,
the ServletExec is initialising properly, but im still getting the same error. Can you please suggest something else?
Can there be a problem with the java version? as there is 1.4.2_12 also on that server for other requirements.
Do I need a fresh server with only 1.4.2_07 on that?
Please help me, as I have to do it today only.
Thanks,
Gita.
In this log (C:\Lighthammer\logs\cms.log) do you see the startup sequence?
It begins with: InitializationEngine - Beginning Illuminator Initialization on XXXXXX
followed with a series of: InitializationEngine - Loading XXXXXX......
and finishing with: InitializationEngine - Illuminator system started up successfully
Only after the 'started up successfully' message will you be able to access the Menu.jsp page or call any java application content. IIS and normal html pages will continue to operate throughout this however.

Jeremy
Hi,
There is another problem I started facing from today morning, I have only jsdk 1.4.2_12 on my server now. But now if i start the installation, it gives me an error saying,"sun java virtual manager must be installed", although it has been installed.
Please suggest me some solution.
Thanks,.
Gita
The install only requires 1.4.2, which means the _07 or _12 patch versions should both be OK. I would recommend the newer versions of 1.4.2 since they include numerous updates and the changes to DST are addressed as well.
The insall does require the full J2SDK installation on the server, meaning the full install including both the JDK and JRE, it will not allow installation on just the JRE.
HI,
Thanks a lot for your help Jeremy.
Right now, I'm planning to remove the xMII and J2SDK completely from the server, and then start the installation from scratch with 1.4.2_12.
Can you give me the instructions for totally removing xMII from the server. With nothing left at all.
From the Add/remove s/w, I need to remove the following:
SAP xMII 11.5
SAP xMII CMS 11.5
SAP xMII Productivity Wizards
SAP xMII Security 11.5
ServletExec 5.0 AS
What else?
Thank you,
Gita

It should not be this difficult...nor should it be necessary to uninstall everything....
I would recommend handing this task over to someone who's done it before, or perhaps who may be more qualified. On a properly configured Windows 2003 server environment (see the Getting Started/Installation guide in the help for detailed steps) the installation should be essentially a default...next...next installation and take less than 30 minutes.
