Is it possible to restore the SRC code from a deployed WD application

Hi,

After downloading an application from DTR, i notice that there are some views that are missing. However the deployed application is working fine. So my question is:

Is it possible to restore the SRC code from a deployed WD application ?

Or any other hint as how i can get back the missing views.

Thanks.

Regards,

Daniel

Hi,

In the DC Prespective:

Go to Inactive DC->Right Click and Remove Configuration->say Yes(That will delete the local DC)

(Dont not Remeove the Folder from RootFolder of DC,say Cancel)

Again Import the Project from the DTR->Select the Project

Rightclick on the application->Select all the files from Sync DC window->ok

Now you can able to see all the files in SCR.

Hi Lavanya,

But the problem is that the SRC from the DTR itself has missing views files (.wdview files).

So is there a way to restore the SRC ? Does the DTR keeps any history of versions ?

Or can i use the deployed application executables and extract the SRC from there ?

Thanks.

Hi Daniel

Yes the DTR keeps a version history of your files.

In NWDS -> Development Configuration perspective select your development component and you can scroll down to src > packages > package name > view name

To check a files version history right click on the file and then DTR > Show in > Version graph or Revision history.

Can you see your missing view files there? If not. Then maybe they weren't added to your DTR from the beginning?

If they are there you could always try to do a Repair on your WebDynpro project in your NWDS.

I don't think you can extract the views from the version you have deployed on your application server.

Hi Goran,

Thanks for your reply.

I ve tried your suggestion but i can't find the file on the DTR.

Like you said, may be it was never there.

I guess i will have to re build the screens.

Thanks again.

Daniel
