GATP challenges, common pitfalls, pain points in implementation

Hi Friends,

Based on your learning and experience could you please share points on GATP challenses, common pitfalls, and pain points in its implementation. What I am looking for is about these points during implementation and post implementation phases. Basically the points/areas which can make or mar the GATP projects and also the areas to cover to minimize the risk in the project.

I probably cannot answer all the questions, but here is a perspective from personal experience on GATP project. The key considerations are:

1. Stable SD solution in R3 side. A GATP implementation does require a stable SD implementation

2. Understanding of all customizations of SD side. This is very crucial since any non-standard ways of handling a sales order creation to PGI cycle has potential impact on GATP house

3. It is easier to start off with simple GATP configurations like Availability chk and Allocation chk before embarking on fancier ways of doing ATP. IN the same vein do as much configuration and less of customization in GATP.
