Downloading kernel patches

Hi,

we are planning to upgrade the kernel for HP-UNIX ia64 which is at present 75 to 146 latest.

As per the notes i downloaded both sapexe.sar and sapexedb.sar.

But the problem is that when i uncared database dependent file i dont find any brbackup, .and other related files whereas i do in case of win32 for ides.

So please let me clear that is there any difference with O/S or do i need to download dbtool from market place for unix based O/S?

O/S - hpunix ia64

sap- ecc6.0

db- oracle 10g

Thanks and regards,

After uncar DBATL700O10_32-20001024.SAR, make sure you change the permission of the br* files

chmod 6755 br*

chown ora<sid>:dba for :

brarchive

brbackup

brconnect

brspace

brtools

chown <sid>adm:sapsys for :

brrecover

brrestore

the oracle tools can be found in the DBATL700O10_32-20001024.SAR file...and OF COURSE you have to dl the corresponding unix executables für hp-ux/ia64...

have a look under Patches -> Additional Components -> SAP Kernel -> SAP KERNEL 64-BIT -> SAP KERNEL 7.00 64-BIT -> -> ORACLE -> HP-UX on IA64 64bit (or the appropriate if you're using unicode for example...)
