Licensing Interactive Forms - where does interaction start ?

According to SAP note 750784, we will need an additional license for Adobe Interactive Forms when meeting the following criteria:

- create templates for interactive forms

- create our own own customer-specific interactive form templates

- change an interactive form template delivered by SAP ...

What does "interactive" mean in this context? Does it mean any interaction between an end user an the PDF form oder does it mean the uploading of form fields back to the SAP system?

We would like to create kind of application forms with this tool. Those forms should be pre-filled with data from SAP, but will never be uploaded to the system.

Does anyone know, if we are allowed to do this without an additional license?

Kind regards

Daniel

Hi Daniel,

I'll try to resume the case when you need the addiotional licence for interactive form.

If you use "Adobe Interactive Form" solution for generating PDF forms ( standard or speicifc one ) that user can only view or print you don't need additional licence. Sap consider that if you use function module "CONERT_OTF" you will get the same result so you don't need to pay.

If you use the solution for generating PDF that user can modify the content without Adobe Creator and the modification will be update in the SAP system , in this case you need to pay the additional licence .

The most secure solution is to contact your SAP Account manager to check if in your case you need to payd.

Hope this help you .

Regards.
