Hi Chirag,
iam agree that we have to do all the settings at R/3 end
But my doubt is Do we need to create this step in XI ??Where we have to do it.
1. Create HTTP connection in the business system.
2. Configuration Business system as local Integration Engine.
I will agree with this Step that we have to perform this on both ends
Configuration of the Integration Engine
3. Connection between Business System and System Landscape Directory

1. Create HTTP connection in the business system.
Go to SM59 Tcode and follow the process.
2. Configuration Business system as local Integration Engine.
Go to SXMB_ADm and follow the process.
3. Connection between Business System and System Landscape Directory
A) Create the R3 Business system in SLD and import it in ID and use that in ur scenario for proxy.

Hi,
Maintained it in XI side:
Purpose of both the RFCs.
Answer:
1) LCRSAPRFC
The RFC destination LCRSAPRFC is required for the connection to the System Landscape Directory (SLD). It is used to read the exchange profile.
2) SAPSLDAPI
The RFC destination SAPSLDAPI is required for the connection to the SLD. It is used by the ABAP API.

Hi Suman,
you are saying that we need to create the LCRSAPRFC alone in R/3 system and
LCRSAPRFC and SAPSLDAPI are to be create in XI system
How far we can accept this?? - You can accept it because in R/3 you will have to maintain LCRSAPRFC to access the XI exchange profile and then in XI profile you will have your repository name and then R/3 can get your sw componets defined in your this XI repostory.
Please do as i have said and then run SPROXY in R/3, then you will be able to see all your sw components of your IR in R/3.

hi suman,
please follow this link

it will be help full for you.

note: give points if it is useful
Hi Madhav,
This if fine.
But wat iam asking is do we need to create another entry in Visual Admin for this .....
4. Maintaining the SAP J2EE Connection Parameters for LCRSAPRFC and SAPSLDAPI in SAP J2EE engine
Why because i maintained already these two entries in Visual Admin for XI's RFC detsinations
Please confirm

Suman
Hi Suman,
But wat iam asking is do we need to create another entry in Visual Admin for this .....
4. Maintaining the SAP J2EE Connection Parameters for LCRSAPRFC and SAPSLDAPI in SAP J2EE engine - No, only one entry should be there for each of these RFC destinations.............
Regarding your question as to why we need LCRSAPRFC in r/3, the reason is by this RFC r/3 will access the exchange profile of your XI server and then it will be able to access IR based on the data you have in exchange profile for the IR.
We have a system in which in r/3 we do not have SAPSLDAPI because of which the SLDCHECK in r/3 is not running but we have LCRSAPRFC in r/3 running fine and so in SPROXY we are able to see all our interfaces of IR of our XI-system.
So if you have just LCRSAPRFC and not SAPSLDAPI, then also your SPROXY transcation will be able to get data from your XI system.......but if you want to have SAPSLDAPI also running in R/3, then create a rfc for it in r/3 and get it running, then also you will get all your interfaces in SPROXY in R/3.

Hi Suman,
the first 2 points are for r/3...........the third point onwards is for XI system...........but you will need to have the LCRSAPRFC in r/3 system............and one thing more if you will already have LCRSAPRFC and SAPSLDAPI in XI-system, so do not re-create these things anywhere in XI-system.............only perform those steps from the third point onwards in the blog, which are not there in your XI sysem...........then run SPROXY in r/3 system and check if you see the interfaces of IR of XI system.

Hi Suman,
hmmmmmmmmmmm.......................so you are worried about the heading................ok......let me try to explain.
basically the main heading is Configuration of the Integration Engine and under it this heading Connection between Business System and System Landscape Directory is specified..............
in SLD, you have your BS and there you tell the integration server which your BS will use and since your XI server will be having a exchnage profile for your XI settings, the BS can access your XI profile............LCRSAPRFC lets you to access the XI exchnage profile which tell about the IR details..........SAPSLDAPI is used to connect to SLD...........So basically the heading specified is just a heading - do not worry too much about it
just in your R/3 system, get LCRSAPRFC working and then in SPROXY, you will be able to see all your interfaces of IR of your XI server.
