Dear Friend,

Free goods :- Business may like to provide free goods instead of monetary discount in sales orders Just like discounts are linked to Sales value / item quantity, Free goods are linked to Quantity ordered in a sales document.

Free goods are customized using condition Technique. Based on this technique a procedure will get activated and determines the free goods quantity in SALES DOCUMENT

1.Document quantity= quantity ordered by customer

2. Minimum qty for free goods=the minimum quantity to decide the provision of free goods

3. Free goods quantity= the quantity of goods supplied to customer with no price (Nil price)

SAP provides two methods to calculate free goods

Details Inclusive Exclusive

1. Ord qty 100 100

2. Min qty 10 10

3. Free goods 2/10 2/10

4. No of f goods 20 20

5. Deliver qty 100 120

6. Customer pays 80 100

7. Free good mat same, as order can be different

By default the record is for Inclusive.

Maintain following fields

Material = KP20HP

Min qty=10

From qty= 10

Uni=Unit of measurement = PC

Are Free Goods= 2

Add=PC

Calculation method=1 (pro-rata)

Save

Create order to test

To test whether free goods is working enter an order qty less than min qty then system will alert that min qty for free goods not reached

When we enter qty, free goods procedure gets activated and free goods are determined based on Condition Record. System will automatically split ord qty into two line items, main or higher level item whose quantities are priced and sub-item whose quantities are offered 100% discount

Item category for sub-item is determined by the Rule

ZKORNORMFREE+TAN=TANN

Since the item is free, and requirement 55 is met condition type R100 is activated and value 100% is taken from a formula based in alternate condition base value 28(ref pricing procedure)

When we maintain Exclusive Condition Record system provides an additional field called “ Add mat free Good” where we can maintain material number of the material to be given as free. If the filed is not maintained then system uses the same material as also free Good material.

I think it ll give clear idea about free goods and its cofiguration.

Hello Raj,

Goto VBN1, to create the condition records for the free goods. There u need to decide whether it can be maintained as inclusive or exclusive and the qty of free goods.

Goto V/N6 to assign the freegoods procedure to the document type.

Also check the free goods procedures are configured properly with proper condition types.

Now u can enter the order at VA01 and can be able to see the free goods exploding in the order.
