how to deploying DESIGNER_5-10000951.SAR with sapcar

Hi all,

I wish to regenerate the ITS stylesheets on an EP Portal implementation and need the sap_preview/sap_generate service to do so.

In accordance with the note on this topic I have downloaded the above files but am at a loss as to how/where to deploy it.

I assume I need to be in a specific directory on ITS to ensure that the files are unpacked into the correct place??

where abouts on the portal server do I place the contents of the webdocs folder?

Hi Paul,

You don't have to put it on the portal server. The sar archive contains ITS services. You have to put the content of webdocs folder on the wgate server in the mimes folder of your ITS instance.

i.e. copy webdoc\* <webserver_root>\<its_instance_name>

Hi Klaus,

thanks for the help, I am now able to run sap_preview and sap_generate. Unfortunately when they run they don't appear to do anything!! but that's a separte issue.

Hi Paul

copy the sar archive and sapcar to an empty directory. Extract the archive with

sapcar -xf DESIGNER_5-10000951.SAR

You will get three directories services, templates and webdocs.

Copy services\* to the services directory of your ITS installation, copy templates\* to templates directory of your ITS installation and webdocs to the location on your webserver.
