How to move SAPDATA directories to the other path/disk?

Hi,

We use ECC6/Oracle 10g.

since the disk which stored sapdata is nearly full, how to move the sapdata directories to the other disk?

Use brtools? (brspace) to move the database data?

How to ? Please show me the detail steps.

Hi Randy,

You can use brtools to move the datafiles from one directory to other. Before doing that take a backup of the database.

In brtools> space managementalter datafiles

U can use this option.

Many thanks for your quick reply.

I tried to move the datafile by brtools, but at last, it notes me that all the datafile will be moved to the new folder.

So, how can I move one of the sapdata directories? move oracle/sapdata1 for example.

Have you tried using...

brtools -> space management -> move data file -> the select datafile or tablespace to move.

BR1083E Move destination 'd:\tmp\sapdata1\' must be a 'sapdata' or 'sapraw' dir

ctory path name

I can not fully understand the error message.

And I also get the following error:

I was puzzled that I just choose to move the following data file:

37 - PSAPSR3USR ONLINE FILE 20480 D:\ORACLE\CM1\SAPDATA1\SR3USR_1

\SR3USR.1DATA1

Why ask me to move all the data file of PSAPSR3???

Dear Randy / Experts ,

Greetings !

As we also facing same issue related to SAP DATA Drive is full and we are in stituation like unable to Login.

As I think your issue resolved to increase the space in SAPDATA / Moved some Datafiles to other Disk.

Could you please tell me the detail steps you followed with Brtools / Other way to carry out your task. It would grateful to you if you revert with solution.
