Offline approval on blackberry device in SRM

Former Member

Hi

We are currently working on SRM 5.5 Self Service Configuration. Approval mails are going to blackberry device but the text appearing on that is not in proper format. Instead of just push butto ( e.g Approve ) the entire text of mail is appearing on device. What could be problem? Any Setting on SRM Side required? Any program coding is required.

Thanks in advance

Hi,

If you read the same e-mail through outlook, do you see approve URL ?

Hi

The problem is with the BB you are using. I believe that it doesn't support HTML.

I have tested it with many BB.

Hi,

there is a problem for the blackberrys and offline approval emails. A note is created as well: 1074757

The problem is with the chars !?~&

Use the report RBBP_NOTIFICATION_OFFAPP_ESC1

I hope this helps. If did, please do not forget the reward points

Hi

I also come across that Note 1074757 but at service marketplace that note is not available and I posted a OSS message regarding this for that I got reply from SAP is that this note is not for customer. I have PDF of that note but to apply the correction I will require the note.

Hi Guys,

we want to use BB for approvals for SRM. Need some details on how can we pass the usr ID / Pwd to SAP while approving the request.

Hello

You need to install a addo from third party vendor i.e. from 3I which has suite of tools which can be

configured to mobilize the SRM application called Mobile Workplace.

You can get more details from below web site..

www.3i-consulting.com

I have already seen the MW functionality and it works fine with Black berry

Thanks and Regards

Hi,

It looks old BlackBerry software does not support HTML mail.

[|]

If you modify email generation program RBBP_NOTIFICATION_OFFAPP to support BlackBerry syntax, it should work. I heard "!" , "?" and other special character handling is different in BlackBerry side.

Hi Masa

Thanks for your reply.

Can you please tell me whether is there any SAP Note or any While Paper/Document from SAP stating Which Model it supports or which model are having problem displaying HTML text.

If you can tell that will be very helpful.

Thanks once again

Hi,

I think that is the job for BlackBerry side. SAP just sends HTML mail.

SAP consulting may have a project solution to modify the email text which supports BlackBerry syntax.

I found this on Web.
