It seems that we can no longer see all the transports of our QAS import que
we can see them in DEv and Prdn
Please advise

Maria,
Somewhat interesting issue - it could be a number of potential issue but the overall answer is that your QA transport buffer file is not being read - either the /usr/sap/trans/buffer directory variable in STMS is defined incorrectly for this system or the buffer file has been removed by accident.
I would additinally open a message with SAP OSS if you cannot restore the file as necessary to have them help you rebuild your queue.
If this answers your questions, please set this thread to answered, if not, please provide your additional requirements so we can address your issues promptly.

Hi,
this steps must be executed after system refresh by system copy.
which system has domain controller?
if your QAS system does not have domain controller then you need to ADD QAS system in domain controller.
reconfigure TMS on QAS system client 000 and add QAS system in domain controller and distributes the configuration from domain controller.
so finally you have three system landscape.

kaushal
Hi,
do following
on DEV system login into 000 client
run STMS
overview -> systems
select QAS and from menu sap systems -> delete
then update the configuration from menu SAP Systems -> update configuration
now login into QAS system 000 client and reconfigure TMS and add it in domain controller.
now again login into DEV system 000 client and update configuration and distribute it
regards,
kaushal
Thank You, that works well, again, as I did this already a number of times.
My issue still remains that in QAS I can view the import ques for DEV and PRDN but when I look at the import que for QAS it is empty, EVEN after I try to ADD transports it does not display in the the que. I think we have accidently locked it and cannot view anything there. I remember there is an option/functin/menu that will allow me to open the transport ques. Do you remember?
Maria
The problems may be related to RFC Destinations, through which the the Domain Changes carried out at Domain controller are going to be distributed.
It also requires that, the host name entry of the QAS system must be done in hosts file located at <Dirve>:\WINDOWS\system32\drivers\etc on Host of DEV (which is domain controller, in this case)
Retry the whole procedure as specified by Kaushal, if you want to reconfigure TMS for QAS, again.
then,
"Approve" the QAS System in DEV,000 Client (which is domain controller). and Then, finally, Distribute the Changes.
Also ,check the status info of QAS.
and see the effect.
Tell me if i am wrong.
It was only a database refresh.
Then we do the post refresh configs, including the stms and realiagn with the domain controller
the config file for windows and server names, should not have been touched, in fact we just completed a refresh of DEV and we followed the same procedures except to rebuild the domain and 3sys config.
The problem remains that I cannot add to the que, it seems to read properly from the que when I do a refresh but does not display any transports, even when I try to add thru (extras>>> add)
I can actually see the transports of dev and prdn que, when I am in QAS but nothing in the QAS que.

At the OS level for SAP there is no directory for usr/sap/trans this exists only in the DEV server at the OS Level
in DEV in usr/sap/trans we have
folder backup
and the following files
ECD
ECN
ECNOLD
ECNSAV
ECNTMP
ECP
ECPOLD
ECPSAV
ECPTMP
ECQ
ECQOLD
ECQSAV
ECQTM
TMS_TEST.ECP
TMS_TEST.ECQ
At OS for QAS system
there is user\sap\ECQ but there is no USR\SAP\TRANS
Yes I did configured the transport routes In Tranport Routes I see
Configuration Status
ECD (active symbol) System ECD
ECP (active symbol) Prod System
ECQ (active symbol) System ECQ
Transport Routes
-
ZECD Transport Layer ECD
--- ECQ System ECQ
-
ECP Production Instance
--- SAP
--- ECQ System ECQ
-
ECP Prod System
hi Maria,
FIle system /usr/sap/trans should be available in QA system. If you can't access it then
you should mount this file system from DEV to QA.
After that check the transport route in QA client 000.
If the route is not correctly, goto Menu SAP system - update configuration.
Check also QA system has the same transport group as DEV/PRD.
Let me know if still problem.
