dear all,
When creating an inquiry if the customer is not a regular customer and one is not sure whether the inquiry will be converted into order, do we have to put a customer or what are the ways to solve this issue
thanks
Hi,
You can create a group of prospective customers, and assign the new ones to them.
once you get the credit value is desirable you can transfer the customer to the main customer master group.
for prospective customer customization is:
For this, one can goto SPRO, Logistics General, Business partner, customers, control, define account groups and field selection for customers. (or) T.code OVT0
Here u can create ur own account groups and layouts for the same.

Siddharth.

Hi,
Fist u create the customer accoutn group as prospect customer account group by ticking prospect field in that tabage. Then create customer with that prospect accoutn group.
If u are creating prospect customer it does not need company code data and other data fields. Just check the prospect accoutn group which and all fields are configured.

Sankar

Dear varada Rajan,
As per my view If you want maintain the data related to Inquires in SAP system you need to create customer master in the SAP system for that customer, then only you can able to create the Iquiry document in the SAP system.
If you don't want the data about all Inquires you want only after conform the order then you need to create customer master before going to create sales order in SAP system.
I hope it will clear for you

Murali.

Hi,
You can create that customer as Prospect customer. And then u can create innquiry for that customer. If the inquiry converts to order then u change the prospect customer to customer and create order for that customer.
If the inquiry does nt converts to order then just reject the inquirey by stating order reason in inquiry document.
But u can still keep that prospect customer data for future use if the inquiry does not convert to order,
Regards
Sankar
