Hi,
I am planning to do XI 7.0 certification. But I am not sure of how to approach for the certification. Have many questions in mind.
1. How can I book a date for the exam, I tried to find out in SAP website but it shows info about its training facilities in Australia but have no info on the certification centres.
2. Where can I find the material.
3. Any usefull info regarding certification i.e. the type of questions and how long would it take to prepare for the exam..
4. Any usefull material and valuable sujjestions.
5. I am trained in XI 3.0, any sujjestions on would it be good to be certified for 3.0 or 7.0 any differences b/w them.
I would be very gratefull if my questions would be answered and due points would be awarded as well
Thanx in advance
Prabha
HI,
1. How can I book a date for the exam, I tried to find out in SAP website but it shows info about its training facilities in Australia but have no info on the certification centres.
In India, one way to take XI certification would be to attend the SAP provided training for XI. I dont know the cost of training for the same, but I know that SAP allows you to take up one attempt for the XI certification after the training without extra costs.
If you want to take up the XI certification without any training by SAP, then you will have to provide a certificate from your employer that you have the requsite experience in XI and SAP.
Once you had send all the details then you could take the date for SAP certification.

2. Where can I find the material.
The TBIT41 study material will be available with Authorized SAP Training Institutes. But you can search on internet for similar kind of study materials.
Plz go thru XI elearn materials..

Further, follow this link, it will show you on which topics you have to concentrate more...
3. Any usefull info regarding certification i.e. the type of questions and how long would it take to prepare for the exam..
Mostly the Certification questions are based on real time XI developments, so I would suggest to have more practice for the certification. Theoritical knowledge cant take to clear XI certification.Because you should have a hand on the product before appearing for the certification. So i ll strongly recomment you to install and learn XI before taking up the certification.
You should unleash the functionalities given by SAP XI and then if you take up certification , you can come out with flying colours.
these threads are useful for u.

4. Any usefull material and valuable sujjestions.
You will find a whole lot of info and material(free downloads) regarding XI and the certification on sdn. Not on the forums directly, but inside "blogs", "learning", etc. Since you are planning to give the exam within the next two weeks, I suggest you to read and follow the tbit learning material thoroughly. Also, help.sap.com has the entire documentation required for SAP XI. If you want to check out some of the scenarios and some special cases...like content conversions, multi-mappings, read the blogs on these topics.
The forums are preferable if you want a clear idea about some topic in particular or if you want help in configuring some particular scenario.
Check this "Assessment and Results " under SAP Certification Policy:

5. I am trained in XI 3.0, any sujjestions on would it be good to be certified for 3.0 or 7.0 any differences b/w them.
As such there are not more differences in XI3.0 and 7.0
There is not much difference between XI 3.0 with latest Service Pack i.e. 20 or 21 and PI 7.0
The main difference between 3.0 and 7.0 is the GUI in SLD. But, it is pretty easy to adopt. All other components, e.g. IR, ID, RWB, should virtually be identical.
7.0 also contain some SCM contents not available from 3.0. For most of us, this is a non-issue.
In 7.0 we can schedule a background job and edit the payload.
XI3.0 is based on WAS(web application server)6.40 - NW2004
PI7.0 is based on WAS(web application server)7.0 - NW2004's
Service packs in 2004 and 2004s;
in 2004 - in 2004s

SP13 + 14 - SP05
SP15 - SP06
SP16 - SP07
SP17 - SP08

Hi.,
SAP changed the rules last tech ed, and the rules now are,
1. 2 years of SAP Implementation Experience.
2. 1 year with current employer.
If you take the Training from a SAP Centre then you can take the certification as without this experience as well. But this training cost is Rs 250,000 here in India.
