WM cycle counting - Blocking IM inventory with LICC and LX16

Although LICC and LX16 cycle counting blocks WM quant inventory until cleared, it does not block IM inventory. Is there a way to block the quanity being counted in the quant at the IM level as well? We have issues where MIGO postings at the IM level are executed while a quant is blocked for counting.

if you want to block IM you should block at Slocation level, in WM only you can block a material at Bin level.

hi Cheryl,

then why don;t you block the storage location at IM level because storage location is assigned to Warehouse management hence automatically no inwarding of mateial in warehouse .

in Im level you can bock the storage location in following node

spro- material management - invnetory management and physical inventory - allowfreezing of book inventory

thanks,

manish

In configuration I have the storage location checked for freezing of inventory. However, it does not stop material movements. I am still able to create and activate a WM inventory document through LICC, then do an MB1B movement to pick the inventory to move to another storage location. The subsequent TO from the MB1B which picks the WM inventory fails due to the WM inventory docuemnt, but the IM inventory still moves.

You can use trx LS06 to block material being transferred in and out of a storage bin.  If the storage bin is blocked, any transfer, goods issue, etc. will error out when the person goes to post!  This will protect against the problem you are having at the IM level.  LS06 is very quick and you can select multiple storage bins at once.  You just have to remember to change it back when your Cycle Count is complete!
