Hi madhav,
cannonical XML means it is a standard XML format, which you can you in many scenarios.
cannonical is used to reduce the neccessity of making same mapping flow again and again. in this case you just do one mapping from/to your cannonical XML and in all scenarios(where you have to use the same cannonical xml) just map your source to that cannonical XML or map yout target from that cannonical form.
Our PI can process XML and cannonical XML format is not different from normal XML. just is is a standard maintained.
