How to extract and deploy .SCA files?

hi to every SDN Members,

this is sreeram.recently i downloaded Itemfield Conversion Agent from service marketplace.it is .SCA (Software Component Archive) file i need to extract and deploy it on NetWeaver Developer Studio as a add on product.pls tell me how to do it.

It's not like that. You're mixing up two different things.

Conversion Agent have 2 parts:

1. the CA "itself" (runtime), the part you deploy in the XI instance that will have CA;

2. the IDE for CA, which is basically eclipse + a CA plugin.

This plugin can be added to another developer studio installation that you already have in your pc (I'm not sure about the eclipse versions compatibility; double check that).

As Snehal mentioned, you do not need to extract SCA file unless you want to adding new jar files manually into the SCA / SDA files.

Otherwise, you can give the package to BASIS guy to deploy directly from SDM

Hello,

In general,

You can directly deploy the SCA file using the SDM. You don't need to extract anything. If you do need to extract any particular SDA frm the SCA. You could open the SCA in windows using the winzip/winrar and extract the required SDA.
