CASAP_E_993 message: Name or password is incorrect (repeat logon)

Hi All,

I am trying to talk to SAP instance running in windows machine from an application from AIX.

when i do a test connection , i am getting the following error. could you please help me with the troubleshooting. where i should look for the potential error.

CASAP_E_990 RFC error operation/code RfcOpenEx

CASAP_E_991 key: RFC_ERROR_LOGON_FAILURE

CASAP_E_993 message: Name or password is incorrect (repeat logon)

The connection test for C27 Myhost-2k3 27 failed.

PS:It is definitly not the username and password. i tried a login directly to the SAPGUI with the same details and it works.

I assume your AIX application connects to RFC through some interface that you have not mentioned.

Unfortunately it is quite important to know the details about this interface.

As this interface could try to connect through a completely different user with a completely different role as such you are using. At least, if it's done in good programming style, it surely does use a different user, called the RFC-User.

But all of this is surely documented in the manuals of your application you are trying to use.

If not, I'd advice to not use this application....
