Hi,
is it possible to connect mutiple R3-Systems to one XI?
How does it work?
Regards
Stefan
Hi Stefan,
quite normal. You can connect R/3 systems over RFC, IDoc or ABAP Proxy adapter. BPM is for control the message flow, it is not required. You will have one technical, one business system in SLD for each R/3 and one Business System in IB Directory.

Dear Stefan ,
I hope you might be using two scenarios specially :
FILE-XI-IDOC & IDOC-XI-FILE .
1) IDOC-XI-FILE scenario :
a) Add client to Technical system (There is "add" OPTION)
b) Create Business sytem for the new clients
c) Nothing to be done at IR side
d) In ID ,In XI business system create file adapters for different R/3 systems , create receiver determination , receiver agreement , Interface determination for diffrent systems .
2) FILE-XI-IDOC scenario :
a)Copy the IR part USING "COPY OBJECT OPTION "
b)Configure ID also

Stefan,
You can certainly connect multiple R/3 systems to one XI.
1. If your R/3 system release is 4.7 then use point 8 from the configuration guide. (RZ70 transaction collects the system data and creates a technical system in the SLD)
2. If your R/3 system release is < 4.7 (means 46c or 46B, 40B) then you should create a technical system in the SLD.
3. For any other SAP product with ABAP stack (including R/3 47 system), you should check the SAP_BASIS release if it is 6.20 you should apply XI Add-on to use XI Proxy adapter. For SAP_BASIS < 620 you cannot have XI Proxy adapter. For SAP_BASIS > 6.20 you do not need any add-ons (from this point onwards it is NetWeaver)
To find SAP_BASIS release -> SPAM Transaction -> Click on Package Level.
Then create a business systems for each one of them and import them into the Int. Directory when needed.

Hi Stefan,
It is possible (even without BPM), using content based routing at the time of receiver determination in your ID.
You can select the appropriate business system, (which you should have already defined in your SLD).
How it works
1) Based on the input value, (using Xpath or context) you can select the required Business system.
2) Appropriate IFs have to be there for each of them, so with the help of corresponding mapping (or not) you can send data to various systems

Dear Stefan ,
You can connect multiple SAP R/3 clients with one XI client . You need to configure IR and ID seperately and also create Business systems in SLD for different clients in SAP R/3 .
You can do it without BPM .
