Hi,
We are planning to take backup from a PA to BW cube. We generated a cube from MSDP_ADMIN data extraction tools. The data load to cube from the generated datasource 9AXXX is a full load to the cube. The problem with this is the data is adding up every time we take a backup, doubling the quantities or we have to delete the previous request and load the data.
Users want the history of data, i.e I take a backup today and the qty is 10 and change the qty. planning book to 20. When I take another backup tomorrow and the cube data should show two different quantities 10 and 20 and not either 30 or 20.
What should I do? Should I use an ODS before loading to the cube or should I add another character that differentiates the loads???
Any suggestions are welcome.
Thanks.
Hi, you can use a characterisitic (some version of tye date) to differentiate the data backup from planning area.
assuming the data extraction is not spanned between 2 dates, sy-datum can be used
otherwise the start date of data extraction from planning area can be used.
or you can have some logic other than date.

I can use a ODS with key field as sy-datum
