error in returns against sales order

hi friends i am getting error item category E not supported for movement type 651 ,while doing returns from customers against sales order

Dear kunal ingale

Are you trying to create returns against an order under MTO scenario ?? For information, for returns, 651E will not work. You can try with 653E.

Alternatively, go to VOV6, select your schedule line category (should have been DN) for returns, you can maintain movement type 655, so that the returned stocks will be posted to Quality.

also check what is schedule line category of the return order.?
