Dear Experts,
I have these systems DEV/QAS and PRD , ECC6 on AIX/oracle
i have exported the /usr/sap/trans from the DEV system as NFS file system ,and i mounted it into the QAS.
and
these are the users and groups for OS usrs and groups
DEV OS users
user id=202(devadm), uid=0(root)
group id=202(sapsys) ,201(sapinst),203(dba),204(oper)
QAS users
user id=205(qasadm) , uid=0(root)
group id=208(sapsys) ,204(sapinst),206(dba),207(oper)
if i released any transport request from DEV and tried to import it into QAS,i got error related to the read/write permissions for the cofiles and data
i checked the owner/group for this directory i found starnge thing
the reason :
devadm has deferant id for qasadm
and dev sapsys group also has a deferant id in qas
but how can i fix this problem, to be ready to import the requests into QAS
Thanks
Sherif
devadm and qasadm should have different IDs, after all, they are different user accounts. Howver the groups sapsys, sapinst, dba and oper should have the same ID accorss hosts, respectively. For example,
on DEV host on QAS host
sapsys id = 101 sapsys id = 101
sapinst id = 102 sapinst id = 102 (sapinst group only needed during install )
dba id = 103 dba id = 103
oper id = 104 oper id = 104
Perhaps you should consider using LDAP or NIS for user account management accros hosts.
Please note that this is an OS issue and should have been posted in other forum.

Dear Frank,
i know this is related to the OS but i asked the System Adminstrator and he told me this issue related to your application and if i changed the group id will affact many things.
as you see in my system i have deferant Id for sapsys and sapinst ... in the QAS and DEV
because the QAS system has an extra group with the same id of the sapsy in dev.
i.e
sapsys in dev has id 202
sapsys in qas has id 204
hacmp in qas has id 202
Thanks
Sherif
