Hii all,
My Question is how long it will take copying of a client
(i.e).Client copy in Ecc6 ..I just want to know the exact time
it wil take .I had kept it at around 3:00 pm on 25/3/08 in the
afternoon.and to my surprise its still running and so felt that
its taking longer time..so people over there if you know the
exact time plz do reply....
Thank you.
Hi Manjula ,
Before u start the client copy u should ensure the tablespace, filesystem space, and check for the unused clients and delete the clients
:usr\sap\<SID>\ check the drive free space
then goto SCC4 to see the existing clients
if u have created the logical client using SALE u can delete the logical clients first and then u delete the concern clients using SCC5 and view the log files in SCC3

Hi Rajesh
Frankly speaking I dont know how to check tablespace,
and why to check the filesystem space its a new installation
so i mean to say there is lots of space say nearly 200 gb
space is there in D:drive.
its an IDES version and by default we wil b getting 800,810
clients ..so why to delete all those.
---the other thing i cannot check the status in scc3 as I assigned job in background...in sm50 also we can observe a
Background job with time,, everytime I refresh it -
time is getting changed so this the concept which I am worried about
that how long will it take to complete as ABAP'rs are
waiting eagerly to work in that.
hi
vamshi I am able to see the statistics but what shud i do
to speed up the client copy..where i shud see what i shud
check plz do explain in
clear steps ...I already kept the client copy so if u could plz
how to speed it up its stuck up in the program RSDBSVPD
AND TABLE SNAPT..Status and all its showing as perfectly
active...so what shud i do????
thank you,
Hi Manjula,
There is no procedure to speed up the client copy as far as i know, You can just check whether the table spaces are full or the disk space is full using the transaction which i have posted,
if there is no space left then you have to add the extent or table space accroding to ur database.
Any ways prior making a client copy always run a test run which will tell u the inconsistencies and all the ither details.
Regards,
Vamshi.
HI Manjula ,
I1.f database is oracle means u can use BRTOOLs to alter the tablespace, manually u can adjust the file system free space
2.no need to delete 800 & 810 clients if there is any clients not in use like that u can delete it.
3.using DB02 and ST02 u can analyse the spaces utilised

Hello manjula,
A client copy with large data will take considerable time, if parallel processing is not set.
Always make sure you set correct no of 'parallel process' while executing a client copy.
Is the client copy running with 'parallel process'?

Hi,
Check DB table spaces size's before start copy, time depends on your client size. Any how scc3 will tell you the story...

Hari.
