Bucket consumption in PPMs

Hi,

We have CIfed over Production Versions, which have created PPDS PPMs.

We can see the time continuous consumption in the PPMs, but not the bucket consumption. We have PPDS bucket capacity maintained in the resource. Any Ideas? is there a separate program etc for filling in the bucket consumption?

Best Regards,

Zeeshan.

Hi,

If this problem is observed in the PPM containing mixed resource, you need to implement the note 321474.

In the case of using mixed resource, as R/3 does not recognize the bucket capacity, varaible bucket consumption field in PPDS ppm does not get populated automatically

hope this helps.

Thanks Ramanath,

That was quiet helpful.

the note refers to an exit on R3 side as well. Did you have to put a code in there as well?

We have implemented the note and have tried CIFfing a PPM across. The CIF queue gets blocked with an error message for a resource that doesnt exist at all. The exact message is 'Resource 10000269 not found in database', Any clues?

Thanks in Advance,

Zeeshan.

Hi Zeeshan,

The most likely cause of this error is that the factory calendar that the location and/or capacity category uses in R/3 has not been maintained in APO. As a result the resource cannot be created in APO as no calendar can be assigned to it.

Use R/3 transaction SE16 and table CRHD to find the resource details. Enter the resource number that is mentioned within the CIF queue name in the Capacity ID" (field KAPID) cell and execute. Only 1 result should be returned and from double clicking this line the resource name and location can be found.

Go to the resource (CRC3) and check the factory calendar id mentioned in each of the capacity headers. Then return to APO and go to resource master data (/SAPAPO/RES01), enter the transaction for any location and drop down the calendar cell to see if the R/3 calendars have been maintained.

Once all of the master data has been corrected re-send the resource via the integration model and once it has been received request that the CIF queue entry is deleted.

Thanks Samir,

Unfortunately the resource ID mentioned in the CIF error message does not exist in CRHD table. The error message refers to a resource which never existed.

We have CIF exit active for PPMs and we have 2 ECC logical systems connected to the same SCM box with the same BSG. I checked and found an SAP note for the same error message, but not valid for our release (5.0).

Thanks for your response guys, and please let me know if someone has faced a similar issue.

Zeeshan.

Are you referring to Bucket Capacity in the resource master? You have to maintain the Bucket Definition as 'X maintain' in SNP bucket cap tab if you want to view the Bucket Capacity in Resource. Else, you will only see the Time Continous Capacity.

These capacity profiles are generated in APO based on the planning parameters CIF'ed from R/3.

No, I meant the bucket variable and fixed consumption in the PPM

Hi

Take a look at the PPM Tips and Tricks SAP Note:

[448085 PPM transfer: Tips and tricks |https://websmp205.sap-ag.de/~form/handler?_APP=01100107900000000342&_EVENT=REDIR&_NNUM=448085&_NLANG=E]

This gives you a few pointers and also lists the BADI's you can use to adjust the capacities in the PPM.
