BW- BPS and SEM- BPS

we are in proj prep phase and have to make a call which one should we go for BW- BPS or SEM- BPS. Actually, we are implementing Budgeting, planning and Forecasting and have to do allocations (little part).

I heard we have do not have allocation functions in BW-BPS. But what other advantaged we have with SEM BPS over BW- BPS or vice versa.

What other factors should we consider inorder to make a call.

Could you please through in any Ideas and suggestions or point me to relevant documents you have on these.

->Status and Tracking Monitor

->Miscellaneous enhancements:

1)Statistical Forecast

2)Exit Class for customer enhancements in Web Interface Builder

3)Enhancements for characteristic combinations

4)Predefined totals in rows and columns

5)Variables in Data Slides

just to clarify, all things you mentioned exist in BW-BPS and SEM-BPS.

Your list shows the differences between a SEM 3.x and a SEM 4.0/BW 3.5 system.

What Approach do we follow for Allocations. How do we handle them in BW-BPS?

Hallo,

normally you have not disadvantages with BW-BPS. Then some financial functions will not exist in BW-BPS.

(e.g. allocation)

But you can build all functions with the Planing functions FOX or Exit-Function. That is a good tool.
