Structural Exception.. Urgent

Former Member

Hi MDM Experts,

I have a situation over here wherein I am trying to use the Automatic Import for a XML file through an XML Schema.

XMl Xchema and the port have been mentioned in the port settings. Everything else has also been configured.

But when I place a file in ready Folder it moves into the Structural Exception Folder.

And if I Open the same file through Import Manager Via XML Schema, it shows me, ready to import.

Can somebody tell me, what can be the reason of file moving into Structural Folder. And how should i correct it ?

Please note: The Schema is working fine with Import Manager but not with MDIS.

Help will be appreciated.

Thanks and regards

Hi Nitin,

Open up the import manager with Port's exception file as a source. Check "Impor Action" tab. Mostly this is because "Value Mapping". Do this and import the record.

You will have to carry out this activity once. Once done save your Import Map and close the import manager.

Try with another file. This time it should work.

If this is still an issue try restarting mdis service.

Hi Amol,

All the Value mapping has been done. It shows "Ready to Import"

And even if, something is missing, it should Ignore that. ( Configuration setting made).

Hence I think this is not the problem too.

Please Suggest.

Thanks all for replies anywaz.

Hello Nitin,

Just check the configuration settings in Import Manager:

Automap fields when loading map = yes

Value Automap:

-Hierarchy= Full Path

-normalized = yes

-automatically map null values = yes

or set these variables for MDIS handling in MDIS.ini file:

Automap unmapped values - Yes

Unmapped value Handling - Map

Hope it will solve your problem.

Hello Nitin,

This is only because of incorrect map which you save in Import Mnager and define it in console.

Just open the Import manager, correct your map accordingly and save it.

then try to import the records automatically via MDIS.

and one more thing, just delete all the file from the exception folder first because these files with exception blocks the port.

Hope this will help you.

Hi Saurabh,

This is only because of incorrect map which you save in Import Mnager and define it in console

As I have mentioned that If I use the same Map in Import Manager, it works fine. But if the same map is configured in COnsole, MDIS doesnot work. Hence I feel this is not the problem.

just delete all the file from the exception folder first because these files with exception blocks the port.

We have made the setting : Block on Exception - No.

So i think that the port is not blocked.

Please suggest.
