Hi,

We plan to bring in sales orders for forecast consumption in APO. Do we need to CIF the customer masters before we do that?

Zeeshan.

Sales orders will consume the forecast at the supplying plant.

So when you create the sales order, the supplying plant is a required field. The sales order will CIF over to APO at this plant and will consume the forecast at this plant.

It is NOT possible to consume forecast at the customer without alot of effort / custom code.

Is your sales order consuming the forecast in R/3?

Get it to work in R/3 first then CIF over the data.

Also be sure to Release the forecast from DP. Manually created forecast will not be consumed.

Thanks Guys,

We plan to consume forecast at DCs and not customer locations.

As i understand from your responses, we dont need customers to be in the APO system for such consumption.

depends on where you want to consume it. Do you want to consume at the customer location level then vinods suggestion would help

if your supply chain does not have customers modelled in APO and you want to consume at a different level you can do so by modifying both the way the sales orders are created . it doesnt always have to be the CIF and doesnt have to be at the Customer level if you consolidate your sales orders at say DC level

Asl long as the order type and a few other parameters are correct consumption will happen in APO

Hi,

Yes, one would need to CIF the customer master and also ensure the product-customer location is created in APO or CIF'd from R3 before you can do a forecast consumption at customer location.
