I am trying to install ITS.
After entering all the input value, it gives me error as:
Error when converting from service name=sapiacor_out/protocol=tcp to port number. SAPRETURN=12
I have kept input and output ports for iacor to default & they are not in use.
I am logged in as Administrator of the system.
Can anyone plz tell what might be going wrong...???
Thanks in advance...
Smita
Hello Smita,
the ITS install is probably not capable or authorized to change the entries in your "services" file.
Or the "services" file is being distributed (reset) by some other instance.
I assume you are on windows so go to
/windows/system32/drivers/etc/services
and check for the existence of the following entries (portnummers are free and put in per example)
sapiacor_in 3970/tcp
sapiacor_out 3971/tcp
If they are not listed then add them (use free ports) and restart your install.
If there is an access violation or some other cause as stated above then you might run into more trouble since all ports of the ITS are defined with logical nomenators.

Hello Fekke,
Thanks a lot for the reply... U are exactly right, its not able to write the iacor ports to service file. So
I entered them manually as per you mentioned.
But I m still not successful...
When I restarted the installation, I got the same error.
Here I m providing the whole log list which may help you to still dig into the problem...
The logs are as follows:

Do u find any clue here...???
Plz reply. Thanks in advance...

Hello Smita,
definitely an security/access problem:
this is not only bound to the file access rights
but also to (directory) access right inheritance
and also to the "security policy" settings, which are very unclear in windows.
and can be affected by domain controllers
Sorry, I do not know a way to check/verify how settings should be, you're on your own here.
Regards,
Fekke
