Hello,

I am planning to migrate the the SAP System of OS from Windows to AIX.

Heterogeneous System Copy for SAP Systems. but it does not describe the migration between

Windows and AIX.

Is It possible to migrate of Windows for AIX using backup/restore or

only with the R3load procedure?

Hi,

If my only option is database export on Windows and a database import under AIX using R3load in both cases. There is a way to put faster ??? (export/import).

4.7 Enterprise

Size of database 2TB

What is "faster"? You can split the big tables using migration monitor so you can have more parallelism, you can do export and import in parallel.

Be aware that for such a migration you need to have a certified migration consultant on site, otherwise you will loose support for the target system:

Hi,

if target DB is also MAXDB then you can perform database copy.

check Note 970518 - Hom./Het.System Copy SAP NetWeaver 7.0 (2004s) SR2

Note 941635 - System copy with MaxDB 7.6: Additional information

No - in that case he can´t. AIX is BigEndian and Windows/Intel is LittleEndian - the database restore will not run.

He HAS to use the R3load method.
