WAD 2004s questions: the logo path and set KF color for a bar type chart

Former Member

We are using WAD 2004s version. We've just found a web template created by someone else with logo picture icon at the top and a chart at the bottom.

Question 1:

If right clicking the logo picture icon, then select Tag <IMG> Properties, then we can see the image Source is: bwmimerep:///sap/bw/mime/Customer/Images/Logo.gif (this logo.gif file does exist with SE80 in our server MIME directory). There is a button marked with ... next to this image source field, but if we click this button, then it seems to only upload the local machine drive file other than from server. Then we wonder how the logo picture file with path was identified with the above path/file?

Question 2:

This web template data source is a query with two KFs and the chart is a bar chart type to show these two KFs with two different colors. We wonder how to set one KF with a fixed color, e.g., a red color, and the other KF with another fixed color, e.g., a yellow color. We've tried to right click this chart web item by selecting it's properties and Edit (with 6 steps), but can't find anywhere to set the KF color.

Any idea?

Thanks!

"There is a button marked with ... next to this image source field, but if we click this button, then it seems to only upload the local machine drive file other than from server."

What is this button.

Will try to answer ur questions as per my knowledge.

1. In order to use logo all the times in ur web templates , you have to upload it in mime repository and u can do that very best in se80...

this way defaultly u can use the logo in output without any trouble....

in order to use logo just for 1 webtemplate you have to upload that by using wizard.

2.

open web application designer.

open ur webtemplate

go to chart

go to its properties

choose edit chart

choose columns

choose bar chart

choose wizard

click Next COUPLE OF TIMES

u will reach a position where u have Different Series in display

select each series

change colour for each as per ur convenience...

save it

hi kartikey,

We are really appreciated your reply! We knew the answer to the 2nd question already. About the 1st logo file/path, actually as we said, the logo file was already uploaded to MIME through SE80. The problem is that there is a grey color button next to the Image Source field which is marked as "..." (we are using 2004s WAD), if clicking this button, it bring up a window which shows the local drive/folder. Then we wonder how to use this button to assign the path/file to the logo file on server in MIME?

Thanks a lot!

Hi Kevin.

I'll try to answer your question number 1.

The first time you insert an image with menu Insert - Image, it shows you the tag properties window you mention, with image source = bwmimerep:///sap/bw/mime/Customer/Images/...

If you double click the "..." button, it takes you to the Bex Mime Browser, which shows the images in folder "/sap/bw/Customer/Images". This path is a MIME repository Folder which shows the images uploaded in SE80 saved in path: MIME Repository-bw-customer-images.

You can change this folder with the upwards button (the one at the right side with arrow pointing up), and you can navigate through the SE80 folders.

The problem is when you choose the image you need and click "insert" button, the source path is not refreshed correctly. So in image source you should type the path correctly yourself.

If your image logo.gif is in "SE80-MIME Repository-bw-customer-images" and in the BEX Mime Browser you find it in /sap/bw/mime/Customer/Images/, then the correct source image path is bwmimerep:///sap/bw/mime/Customer/Images/logo.gif

I think that if your image is in another folder, you should change this path. For example, if my image is in MIME folder "/sap/bw/Customer/Publisher/GIFS/" (I found this path navigating in the Bex Mime Browser)

then my source image path must be: bwmimerep:///sap/bw/Customer/Publisher/GIFS/logo.gif

Hope this helps, good luck!
