Revenue Calculation Equations

Community Members:

This request has also been posted within the Aerospace and Defense Forum.

The CostPoint application has 22 different revenue calculations encompassing percentage completion to cost plus, to every combination of labor w/ or w/o fringe etc imaginable. The standard SAP product has various billing plans and conditions, etc., however in reading the solution documentation in the portal (for both ERP and Industry Solution A&D), the descriptions aren't nearly detailed enough to make a comparison for Fit/Gap Analysis.

Please advise whether pre-delivered revenue calculation equations exist or if they all need to be individually setup for service type entities?

Must the logic be created within user exits?

Is there a resource for researching this topic?

Thank you for any insight you may be able to provide.

Hi Janet

Pricing of the Sales Orders to Billing (with or without Shipments) has always been specific to each Business scenario and the calculation is always Company specific. SAP has provided the meathod of pricing which is very robust in nature - as we can create new pricing routines to calculate for each business scenario and decide the GL account posting to be done.

Given this robust nature, and the standard pricing procedures given by SAP, the best feature would be to create your own routines and assign to each condition type in pricing

SAP has already delivered the pre designed routines for each calculation and after analysing them, you can always develop new ones to suit your requirements. You need to have a very experienced SD Cosnultant / ABAP consultnat to deliver the routines as it can become very complicated.

Best wishes

Nandu

Note: You may not be required to use User exits but use Routines for pricing
