We use Site groups (group of sites )for lot of activities, Mainly during Promotion and Merchandise Distribution process.

When we create Promotion, we maintain site group, so that we defining what are the stores promotion is going to takes place and based on the Allocation Rule/Strategy we distribute articles to various sites.

Hi,

DefinitionA site group is a number of sites that have been grouped together using the Classification System.

UseYou can use the Classification System to group together sites that have similar characteristics or are located close to each other, for example. This simplifies data maintenance, and can also be of use for reporting purposes.

IntegrationTo create site groups, at least one class type has to be defined in the Classification System.

Application groups are defined in Customizing and are assigned the class type required for creating the relevant site groups. This class type uses the customer number of the site as the key. The application groups Allocation Table, Promotions, Season and Labeling are predefined to allow these applications to work with the intended site groups.

Site groups operate independently of company codes, distribution chains and other fixed organizational structures.

Hello,

Plant/Site Groups are used in many scenarios such as Retail Pricing, Replenishment etc. We can group sites using transaction CL24N (Class type: 030). When sites in certain regions/countries are grouped, they can be processed together using a single variant. When more sites are added, we only need to update this site group and this get reflected in all the jobs that use the site group. This is also very useful in reporting point of view (Eg: RWBE).

Thanks,

Venu
