Query: Source of partner function

Former Member

Dear All,

I have a basic question in partner determination.

I have configured partner determination such that all the required partner functions

appear when the customer master is created.

But how does the system know the source?

I mean, how does the system automatically populate the customer numbers for the partner functions?

Thanks,

nsp.

Hi

We assign Number Ranges to the Account Groups. This is the source for the number when creating the Customer Master.

Thanks,

and also when u assign the number range - if u assign the Internal number ranges then the system will automatically populate the number to the customer..

Well, Iam asking about how the partners are populated in the customer master. For example, when Iam creating a

customer X, on saving, the sold to party, ship to party are automatically populated with X. What is the source of this data?

For customers created in a Account group, there will be a partner procedure tied to it.

In the Partner Procedure, If you check the mandatory box then the system will populate defaultly the current customer number on the partners that has mandatory box checked.

Example: If you check the mandatoy function box for SP and SH partners in your partner procedure then when you create a customer system will default the SP & SH with the customer number that is being created. It all depends on the Mandatory function check box.

Thank you, but, how does the system know that it should populate the partner number with the customer number being created?

By default when u select the account group 0001 - when using XD01 to create the customer , th emoment u create sold to party, automatically the system will assign the same number to SH, BP and PY. This depends on the mandatory check mark on sh bp and py in the partner determination.

How the system does this - then you will have to look at the user exit/programs which gets triggered when saving the customer creation screen. By debugging the transaction XD01 during customer creation and when u save it/ if u assign break points to the specific customer creation user exit involved you can see that code.
