Backing up ID content

Hi all,

I am looking at a way to back up my Int. Directory content.

I thought of exporting and importing into the same system.

Say, for example Export form Sandbox and import to the Sandbox.

We have file based transport system and I am looking at moving files from Export directory to Import Dir at the OS level.

Is that possible? Is there any other way to do that?

Of course you can do that. Just copy the files from export directory and place it in the import directory and import it.

I was thinking that it should be possilble. I am here at a new clients place and they were telling me that they tried it and it did not work. I dont have all of my access yet. I will have to try it then

Just a clarification, Did you do that before?

Yes I did that before. If you have doubt do onething, create one sample scenario. Export them. Now delete that scenario from ur ID. Transfer the file from Export to Import directory and try to import them , check if it works. I couldn't find a reason,why it's not possible.
