Hi all,

I have a catalog with the following category groups:

-CG1

-CG2

-CG3

-CG4

If I would that a user could manage only the first two, is it possible? If yes, how can I do it?

Thanks very much,

Regards,

Maria

Hi,

Which catalog do you use ? SRM-MDM catalog or CCM or other ?

Are you talking about view for search user or edit authorization for contents manager ?

Hi,

I'm using CCM Catalog;

I would that a user could manage a part of the catalog, related two specific category groups, it is possible? If yes, through view?...I don't know that...could someone explain me this?

Hi,

If I remember old CCM days, I think there is admin field in each category level. If you maintain the admin in schema level or catalog level, he/she can edit all categories. If you maintain the admin only for specific categories, he/she can edit only those categories.

Hi,

I do not have system access for old CCM catalog. Have you tested it with view ?

Yes, but i don't think I can manage that with views...can I define same attribute related Category Groups at role level?

Thanks very much,

Hi,

Defenitely, you can not manage this with Views. There is no standard solution to restrict the users based on category. but i agree this is a "Challenging requirement" in CCM.

Ok.. you can try this.. this is my suggesssion.

1. Place custom attribute in org structure.

2. Maintain restriction values based on the custom attribute in custom table.

3. Enhance BSP application(CCM) to read the values based on the org structure custom attribute and display the application.

Pros: Satisfies the business requirement.

Cons: This is custom application, hence burden for production support team.

Its your call to decide.

Cheers, Renga
